Mentorship
The UTWSA mentorship program accelerates self-identifying women across all years of undergraduate studies towards their career, academic and personal goals by pairing them with a mentor.
From career professionals offering career-related guidance and upper-year undergraduate students/UofT alumni offering guidance on academic pathways, our mentors are dedicated to ensuring self-identifying women are empowered within the academic and professional world.

Hayley Lim, Mentee
“The UofT Women's Student Association Mentorship Program provided me with the support and guidance I needed to explore and refine my future career aspirations. My mentor’s invaluable knowledge and encouragement empowered me to take greater initiative within my community. Being part of a network of inspiring women who strive to uplift and motivate one another to pursue their goals, is such a comforting and inclusive community to be a part of. I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow and connect alongside like-minded women!”
Loïs D’Halleweyn, Mentor
“It has been a great experience so far connecting with my mentee. She reminds me of who I was when I first started at UofT. This also made me realise how much I would have benefited from having a mentor in first year.”
Haliash, Mentee
“As someone who has lived in the Netherlands for the past 18 years of her life and a first-year, I was extremely lost when I first came to UofT. The campus was extremely huge and I was overwhelmed by the amount of opportunities offered. However, once I was paired with a mentor through the UTWSA mentorship program, she directed me to all the necessary resources and answered all of my questions. This made me much more secure and less stressed about the start of my uni journey. Being both from Europe, we had a lot of things in common and had great conversations that were very helpful.”
